Connecting faith and service

Service and Spirituality. The connection is at the heart of what we do at Restoring the Soul. Our July 22 forum, “Service and Spirituality: Exploring the Connections,” will look at local leaders’ perspectives on service and spirituality.

Some facts about the correlation between religion and volunteering:

A survey of Americans’ donating and volunteering patterns demonstrates that individuals who donate or volunteer with religious organizations donate and volunteer more with secular organizations.

“Fifty-four percent of those who regularly attend religious services volunteer, while only 32 percent of the non-attendees volunteer.”

The correlation between religious service attendance and volunteering is seen in youth, as well. (National Study of Youth and Religion.)
